Punjab Minister Slams Human Rights Bodies Over Silence on Targeted Killings of Punjabis

LAHORE – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has strongly criticised international and local human rights organisations for their alleged silence over the targeted killings of Punjabis in Balochistan.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, the minister said that while militants continue to target Punjabis, human rights advocates appear indifferent. “When Punjabis are killed in Balochistan, no one raises a voice. The so-called human rights champions remain asleep,” she remarked.

Azma Bukhari also called for stricter measures to counter terrorism in Balochistan, saying that only firm and decisive action can ensure peace.

Health Card & PTI Protests

Responding to media queries, the minister clarified that the Health Card facility has not been withdrawn from government hospitals in Punjab. She stated that an audit report on the health scheme will be released soon.

Referring to PTI’s call for nationwide protests, she said, “Holding protests is PTI’s habit. We are not concerned about their movement.”

PTI Movement & Founder’s Sons

Meanwhile, PTI has announced a new movement for the release of its jailed founder. Reports suggest that his sons, Suleman and Qasim, may join the rally, which political observers believe could reinvigorate the party’s base and boost the morale of PTI leaders and supporters.
